The Conforming Lake

We are / I am striving for formlessness. Because that means full presence. The irony we already know is that we have to use forms to describe the formless. Humanity is premised on forms. We communicate through forms – symbols, stories, words, materials, letters, gestures, movements, art, curriculum, thoughts, platform shoes. So no need to debate its futility or utility. It just is. Forms are. So then, it becomes a question of ethics, pedagogy, and pleasure. Ethics – how can we be mindful about forms and our accountability as we create and consume forms? Pedagogy - what and how can we teach, with awareness that all forms are observable and transferable? Pleasure – selection and curation of forms are pleasurable experiences. Full stop. Once we settle the question of ethics and pedagogy, such that our choices move as sensually as the sap slithering down her shoulders in sync with a soulful song, then form becomes a lake we jump into on a warm, timeless day.
