Even When

We keep going.

Even when the numbers add up too perfectly to leave mystery out. Even when there’s no space between all the chores for us to scribble our names in mid-air with our tongues in delightful cursive. Even when the boss gives you more than you can handle for a basket that should have been filled with wild fruit gathered from the trails across your street. Even when your loved ones look right past you and miss the golden halo encircling your wild, precious body. Even when you are so fatigued you forget you came from a line of ferocious women who destroyed colonizers and womanizers with a single song and totalizing sway. I say, even when even then we keep going.
