INTIMATE SPACES, 2020

In collaboration with film maker, Anna Brotman-Krass, we offer an anthropological and cinematic inquiry into the landscape of intimacy. We explore intimacy as a space beyond sexual intentionalities, where shadows determine intimacy's unfolding.

Through a convergence of philosophical experiment, aesthetic play, and anthropological research, we explore the following questions:

How do we navigate the seeming implacable antagonism between "then" and "now"?

How does the potency of a visualized past, inform a present unfolding of intimacy?

How can the conceptually and visually ambiguous, inform our knowledge of self and other?

How can we befriend, become intimate with, parts of self that we fear or have held in the dark?

Our shadows hold the answers.
